Private Label Program

Private Label Pillow Manufacturer for Beauty, Recovery and Wellness Brands

Your label, your artwork, your packaging — made on our own line, not sourced from a trading company. We build a small number of pillow shapes for brands that need a factory small enough to answer questions and structured enough to repeat a batch.

What “Private Label” Means at DOWCHI

Private label is not one service. It is four different starting points, and the price, tooling and lead time change at each one. Before a supplier gives you a number, they should ask which of these you mean.

Starting point What you change What stays the same Tooling MOQ track
Stock style + your label Woven label, wash-care label, hangtag Shape, loft, cover, fill None Ask per style
Stock style + your artwork Print or embroidery, colour, gift box Shape, loft, fill Print setup Ask per style
Modified style Shape, size, loft, density, cover Our construction and process Tooling quoted separately 500 pcs
New mould Everything — New mould 500 pcs + tooling

If a quote arrives without this distinction, it is not a quote yet. It is a guess.

This page covers the manufacturing programme itself. If you are still comparing suppliers, our guide to choosing a private label pillow supplier covers the questions to ask before you shortlist.

What We Manufacture

We are not a catalogue of two hundred pillows. Four shapes, made repeatedly, is the point. Repetition is what makes a batch match the last one.

Anti-Wrinkle Face Pillow

Bone-shaped three-point contour. 25 × 24 cm base, 20 cm centre height, 5.1–10 cm loft. Fibre-filled at 720–750 g. Lyocell core cover, with satin, mulberry silk or copper-ion outer.

Beauty Chest Pillow

A side-sleep support that keeps the décolletage off the pillow surface. Built for beauty and wellness ranges that already sell to side sleepers.

Post-Surgery Face Pillow

Built on the same bone-shaped geometry, with cover and packaging specified for clinic and home-care channels. A consumer pillow, not a medical device.

Intimacy Wedge

A positioning wedge for couples, made in our wellness line with discreet packaging and neutral cartons for retail and e-commerce.

The Label Is the Easy Part. The Cover Is the Decision.

On a beauty pillow, the cover is the part that touches the face. It decides hand-feel, laundering, the price band and which claims your brand can support. The fill matters, but the cover is where most first-time buyers under-specify.

Cover Status Hand-feel Best for Claim boundary
Satin (polyester) In stock, five colours Smooth, low friction Gift sets, entry price, a fast first launch Describe the feel and construction; avoid medical or anti-aging claims unless your market substantiates them.
Mulberry silk Made to order Cool, smooth, premium Premium skincare and gift positioning Confirm momme and fibre content in the spec before you print “silk” on the box.
Copper-ion fibre Made to order, champagne base Soft, slight sheen Wellness and clinical retail Tested to ISO 20743:2021 with a strong antibacterial effect. Full report available on request.

No stock holiday designs. We do not keep Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Valentine’s prints on the shelf. You brief the theme or send artwork, and we make it to order. That is the only honest way to offer seasonal prints without dead stock.

We supply the test report. We do not write your label copy. Claims are a market-by-market decision, and the brand that sells the product owns that decision.

Branding Options and What Each One Changes

Branding is not a single “custom packaging” line on a quote. Each option changes a different part of the process — and some of them change the MOQ.

Option What it changes When to use it MOQ track
Woven label Brand name sewn into the seam A permanent mark that survives washing Ask per style
Printed satin label Care and composition information Markets that require fibre and care content Ask per style
Hangtag Retail story, price, barcode Gift and retail channels Ask per style
Embroidery Logo or monogram on the cover Premium gifting and hotel-style programmes 500 pcs
All-over print Artwork across the cover Seasonal themes, licensed art, gift sets 500 pcs
Gift box Retail presentation and protection Beauty sets, subscription boxes 500 pcs
Drawstring bag Travel and storage Sets and unboxing 500 pcs
Eye mask Adds a second product to the set Gift and travel kits 500 pcs

The cheapest branding is often the one that arrives latest. Confirm label placement and box dimensions on the physical sample, not on the quote.

Order Tracks, Tooling and Lead Time

We publish the structure instead of a “from one piece” promise that rarely survives the quote. Stock satin can ship in small quantities. Changing the shape or density is a 500-piece run, with tooling quoted separately.

Track MOQ Tooling Best for
Stock satin, no changes Ask per style None Testing the market, gifting, a first small drop
Stock satin + your label Ask per style None Launching under your brand without a new mould
Change shape, density or size 500 pcs Quoted separately A product that is genuinely yours
New mould from your drawing 500 pcs New mould A shape that does not exist in our line

Lead time is confirmed in your quote. It depends on the cover, the packaging and the finishing — not on a single factory-wide number. In-stock satin styles normally dispatch in 2–3 days; a custom run follows the schedule written into your order.

Sampling and Approval

A sample is not a formality. It is the only chance to catch the four things a spec sheet cannot show you: how the loft feels under your hand, how the cover behaves at skin temperature, where the label actually lands, and how the product sits in its box.

  • What we sample: the exact cover, fill, label and packaging combination you intend to order — not a generic house sample.
  • What you approve: the golden sample becomes the reference for the batch. Keep a photo set and the physical sample.
  • What we protect: NDA on request. Your artwork and mould are not reused for another client.

We do not publish a fixed sampling calendar. The schedule is in your quote because it depends on the cover and the finishing.

QC and Compliance

Most factory pages list certificates. Buyers cannot use a certificate wall; they need to know which number is controlled, how it is checked, and what happens when a batch misses.

  • Density: ±5% tolerance on every batch, checked against the approved specification.
  • De-gassing: 72 hours before packing, so the product does not arrive with a factory smell.
  • Odour and VOC: odour audit with a zero-odour target; foam and fibre are checked before the cover goes on.
  • Documentation: SDS/MSDS available for the materials used.
  • Standard: production controls set above the GB baseline.
  • Copper-ion cover: ISO 20743:2021, strong antibacterial effect. Full report available on request.

How to verify we are a factory, not a trader

Ask any supplier these five questions, including us:

  • Can you walk me through the line on video, showing the cutting, sewing and filling areas in one continuous shot?
  • Who holds the test report — the factory or a trading company?
  • Who owns the mould after I pay for it?
  • Can you run a small stock order before my custom run, so I can test the product and the paperwork?
  • What changes in the spec if I ask for a different density, and what does that do to the price?

Foam moulding on our line. Every batch is checked against the approved density before it moves to finishing.

A trader can answer the first question with a stock video. The last four are harder to fake.

How a Private Label Order Runs

  • 1. Brief. Product, market, target quantity, cover, packaging, and the claims you intend to make. You confirm the brief in writing.
  • 2. Quote. Line by line, with tooling and MOQ separated from the unit price. You confirm the specification, not just the total.
  • 3. Sample. The exact combination you plan to order. You confirm loft, cover, label position and packaging.
  • 4. Approval. You sign off on the golden sample. We keep the reference.
  • 5. Production. The batch runs against the approved sample, with in-process checks at cutting, sewing and filling.
  • 6. QC and ship. Final inspection, packing, carton marks and documents. You confirm the shipping terms before release.

Who This Is For — and Who It Is Not For

It fits skincare and beauty brands launching a first pillow, recovery and clinical brands that need a repeatable spec, gift and subscription companies that need a set rather than a single SKU, and distributors who want a factory that will answer a technical question without transferring them to a sales inbox.

It does not fit buyers who need 50,000 units at the lowest price on the market, buyers who want us to copy another brand’s mould, or buyers who need a firm price before they have a specification. We would rather say no at the brief than surprise you at the deposit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between private label and ODM?

Private label usually means you take an existing product and put your brand on it — label, packaging, sometimes colour. ODM means the factory develops the product with you, including shape, loft, density and construction. At DOWCHI, stock satin + your label is private label; changing the shape or density is a 500-piece development run. For the full comparison, see our custom memory foam pillow ODM guide.

Can I mix colours or styles in a 500-piece order?

Ask before you assume. Mixed-colour and mixed-style runs depend on the cover, the printing method and the packing plan. We will confirm the exact combination in the quote rather than promise a mixed order that the line cannot run efficiently.

Do you make the labels and boxes, or do I?

We can produce woven labels, printed care labels, hangtags, gift boxes and drawstring bags. You can also supply your own artwork or packaging. The practical difference is who owns the dieline and who pays for the setup — both are stated in the quote.

Satin or mulberry silk — which should I launch with?

Launch with satin if you need stock, a lower entry price and a fast first drop. Move to mulberry silk when the product is validated and the retail price can carry the cover. Silk is made to order, so it belongs in a planned run, not a test order.

Can you produce holiday or custom prints?

Yes, made to order. We do not keep seasonal prints in stock. You brief the theme or send artwork, and we quote the print setup and the run together. Allow time for artwork approval before the seasonal window.

Can I see test reports before ordering?

Yes. We can share SDS/MSDS for the materials and the copper-ion test report (ISO 20743:2021, strong antibacterial effect) on request. Ask for the current file for your market.
